WC 2006 Deutschland

Its almost here…..I can feel it…less then 18 hours away….it is here….so I have decided to give you a preview of my tour

So I’m leaving Croatia on the evening of the 10th of June, to travel to Munich, where I catch an early morning train to Dusseldorf, where I meet up with Nemo (my cousin) and then we spend a few hours there, head over to Essen (town near Dusseldorf and Gelsenkirchen)…..wake up early on the 12th and catch a train to Gelsenkirchen…..get ready and watch

USA vs. CZECH REPUBLIC

My first ever world cup match….and I don’t know what to say, I expect it to blow me away, a memory that will never be forgotten and perhaps the greatest experience of my life to date.
Catch a train back to Essen, have a few pint’s of choice German ale, and then wake up on the 13th…..and catch an early train to Berlin
Get my face painted, get my gear on, and get a nice buzz…..get to the ground a few hours early….start the chants…get ready…

HRVATSKA vs. BRAZIL!!!!

something that will be out of this world….to watch my boys open the world cup against the holders, and the best team on the planet….and watch them WIN! You heard it here first ladies and gents.
Spend the next 3 days in Berlin….sightseeing (the pubs)…sampling the local offerings (so many beers so little time) and soaking in the atmosphere, I mean it is the center of all things world cup!!!
Head back to Gelsenkirchen, cause we could not find sleeping anywhere else in Germany, and its not all that bad…I mean Holland is playing Serbia there….on that day….so we can watch it on a big screen right there, and when I mean big screen it’s a giant projection onto a wall in the city….30 ft screen ;)…..or maybe get lucky and get a ticket into the event…
Wake up on the 17th and head over to Kaiserslautern…..where I will witness

ITALY vs. USA

A thriller of two styles….defensive and technical Italians, versus the athletic and attacking Americans….a sick match….
After getting sufficiently intoxicated to actually endure a night train ride to Munich
Wake up on the 18th….in Munich….get lunch…and head over to another one of those giant screens and watch my CROATS!!!! play the Japanese…..and Munich is a city that has at least 50,000 Croatians living there…if not more….so we should be well represented to celebrate….

There you have it….my itinerary….its a dream come true….the pictures will be up as it unfolds…..and expect gloating when we win it all!!!!!!

No Suprises

Surprises…

I hate surprises…

Though sometimes they turn out opposite of what you expect

This can turn out to be a great thing, as long as you decide to embrace the surprise absolutely

“What's your addiction?”

I can answer this.

Adrenaline.

I realized that today, while hiking, when I hit that high, when I accept that I have to do this, and that there is no way out of it, it consumes me.

I practically ran up that mountain today never feeling tired, but just going, moving through the mud, the streams, the rocks, the roots.

At one point I noticed that I was practically like an animal, consumed by my goal, and yet in total control of it. It felt good.

“Time has told me
You're a rare rare find
A troubled cure
For a troubled mind.”
