florence...rome...
ok ok
florence rocked, the museums are amazing, the city is a lil run down but it was amazing
the last day we woke up and went to the Musem Bargello, where Donatello's bronze 'David' is located and other really cool sculptures and coins and even a collection of guns and muskets from the 1600's which were impressive, and some killer sculptures of Eros and Psyche and Firenze triumph over Pisa.
Then we went to the a little church, where we saw the tomb of Amerigo Vespucci, which was really cool...then we headed over to the Uffici Gallery.
This in itself was a gigantic museum full of works of art, the birth of venus, springtime, minerva and the bull by botticelli, and millions of others by leonardo da vinci, botticelli and all those truly amazing works of art that everyone should see at least once in their lives.
Next up was the Santa Croche Chiesa, where there are several famous tombs, Michelangelo Bounarotti is burried there (not the ninja turtle but the guy who did the Sistine Chapel *this was for eddie*), Nicola Machiavelli (author of 'The Prince' "The end's justify the means"), Galileo Gallieli (the guy who came up with the first space telescopes and is kind of the founder of space research), Dante is also burried there, i wont say what he did but the person who leaves the correct comment gets a present from Croatia when i come back.
Then we came home, got a bite to eat and planned out Rome...
The next morning we came to siena but there wasnt an easy place to put luggage so we said fuck it and went on to Rome, we got there at about 5pm, and went for a lil walk around the city, to the colloseum and the ruins, and to get a feel for the city and its vibe.
The next morning we got up, had breakfast on the terrace and then went to the Colloseum which was amazing, Luna was dissapointed with the fact that it was ruined but what did she expect Rome was sacked several times since it was first put up.
Next up was the Palatine, which was the centre of old rome, with tons of monumental ruins and and all that, really cool and we spent hours walking around and all that.
Then we walked up the city saw the Palatine and Rome, it was really cool, but im tired to type it all up, anyone wants a info on Rome just ask or email me
Next day we went to villa Borghese a huge park where we rented a bike for 3 people and went nuts with it down hills and all that. It was cool, then i made them walk across city across bridges to the Giussepe Garibaldi Monument....and back to hostel, we walked about 10 miles easily that day...
Last day we went to the vatican musem, saw the sistine chapel, and the st peter's basilica and the vatican. again for more info ask for details...or ask when i get back
venice sucked, it rained, but it was really preety, dani loved it, me and lil l got lil ponchos and looked like lil peruvians, it was funny, good times in the rain.
